The best chicken marinade

Two store-bought packets, vinegar, oil, and water, a full day in the fridge, then low and slow on the gas grill.

This is the chicken I keep coming back to. I’ve made it a bunch of times and it’s good every time. The trick is two seasoning packets from the grocery store and a long soak.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenderloins
  • 1 packet McCormick Grill Mates Mojito Lime 15 Minute Marinade Mix
  • 1 packet Kroger Zesty Italian Salad Dressing & Marinade Mix
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water

Marinate

Mix both packets with the vinegar, oil, and water, and get the chicken coated. Then let it marinate for 24 hours.

The Mojito Lime packet says 15 minutes. Ignore that. The full day is what makes this one.

Cook

  • Cook on the gas grill, low and slow.
  • Flip once, about halfway through.
  • Pull it when it hits 165F. Go by temperature, not time. A probe thermometer makes it easy.
